About
Callspring exists because the answering services available to small businesses today are either cheap and terrible or expensive and slow. Voice AI is finally good enough to do this job. But only if it's set up with care.
The story
I'm Bo Smith. I've spent years building software for small-business operators. Plumbing companies, dental practices, salons, solo law firms. The most consistent pain across every single one: nobody answers the phone. Calls go to voicemail. Voicemails never get returned. Customers call the next name on Google.
For a while the answer was "hire a virtual receptionist for $300 to $500 a month." That worked, sort of, until the customer asked a question the receptionist couldn't answer. Or until the volume spiked and the queue blew up. Or until the receptionist quit and the new one didn't know the business.
Voice AI in 2026 sounds natural, follows scripts reliably, and runs 24/7 without management overhead. The technology is production-ready. Callspring is the opinionated assembly. Configured per trade. Hardened for the calls your customers actually make. Billed in a way that makes sense.
I'm onboarding the first 50 customers personally. Not because the platform requires it. Because I want to see every onboarding call, hear every demo transcript, and learn what works before I let it run itself. After that we go self-serve.
How it works under the hood
We don't train our own models. We combine voice and language technology into a package built for service businesses. The components matter less than how they're assembled, configured per trade, and tuned over time.
- Natural voice
Synthesized speech that sounds human enough that most callers don't know until told.
- Accurate listening
Robust speech recognition that handles accents, noise, and partial sentences.
- Conversational intelligence
Modern language models, configured per vertical and constrained to your script.
- Carrier-grade telephony
US-based phone routing with high availability and clean call quality.
- Encrypted recording
Per-brand retention policy; deletes are auditable; storage is US-hosted.
- Transparent billing
Monthly subscriptions via a major payments processor. No contracts.
Where we're hosted
Application data, transcripts, and recordings live on US-hosted infrastructure. Real-time voice runs on edge infrastructure for latency. Encryption in transit and at rest. No customer data is used to train any model.
